Hi Karin Lynn,
Thanks for getting back to me...I don't know if you have spotted that I have just upladed a post to my blog about Argentium Silver or if it is just pure coincidence...(cue spooky music!!) Anyway - if you haven't seen it, I have just bought some Argentium wire as it has just become available here in the UK. I've done a little bit of bending on a jig to make some earwires and all seems good so far! And I've managed to get a piece of the wire to form a ball on the end - so I should be able to make my own earwires. I have yet to see how well it solders or if it works well with precious metal clay (which I also work with on occasion) so I still have lots of fun and experimenting yet to do.
Thanks again for taking the time to write to me...and I still LOVE your paintings!!
If you didn't catch my blog its at www.solunarsilverstudio.wordpress.com
All the best,
Barbara.

Barbara,
I haven't had any problems with Argentium Sterling Silver. But, I don't do any soldering, so I'm not sure how that would work. I buy Argentium Sterling wire in both Dead Soft and Half Hard, and I do a lot of bending and twisting with it. I would definately try it when It's available. Good Luck.

Hi, I LOVE your paintings...such amazingly vivid colours...fantastic! I find I am a bit scared of using really vibrant colours but deep down I wish I could! Anyway, I'm really interested in your use of Argentium. I currently use 'fine' 999 silver to make decorative chains and I fuse the metal rather than solder it. I am waiting to buy argentium, which becomes available in the UK at the end of this month...this will open all sorts of areas for me as I will be able to make decent tarnish free earwires - fine silver is too soft for this. How have you found working with argentium? Have you ever tried soldering it? I have heard it cracks easily - have you had any problems with this? Have you discovered any little annoying traits that working in argentium has? There is so little info out there on this alloy...I am desperate to find out more from those who have worked in it!! I would love to hear your experiences!
Best of luck with selling your beautiful paintings!
Regards,
Barbara.

I was in Green Lake on the week of July 4th. Stayed at Heidel House which is a very nice luxury resort. I heard that John Trovolta and Harrison Ford stayed their while they attended the airshow in Oshkosh.
